Stephen Behrendt is a native of Wisconsin who taught at the University of Nebraska. He is one of the leading international authorities on British Romantic literature and culture, and in recent years has done a great deal of work with the recovery and reassessment of women writers from that period, virtually all of whom have historically been neglected. His new collection of poems, Refractions, was published September 2014 by Shechem Press.
