Casey CharlesCasey Charles is Professor of English at the University of Montana, where he teaches Renaissance literature, queer studies, and critical legal studies. The Sharon Kowalski Case: Lesbian and Gay Rights on Trial (Kansas 2003) was nominated for a nonfiction Publishing Triangle Award in 2004. His poetry chapbook Controlled Burn appeared in 2007 (Pudding House Press), and his manuscript, Writing it Out, was a finalist for the May Swenson Prize in 2006. In July 2007, his article "Our Homo Town" appeared in the Missoula Independent, and his poem "Patricia, la Poeta" appeared in Neo, an international literary magazine published in the Azores, Portugal.
